This is the view from my studio - on sunny days it makes working quite difficult really. I want to be reading a book and sipping something cold sat in there. Today the sun is breaking through....hmmm.
In other news the freelancing is going incredibly well, so well in fact that I worked the whole bank holiday and really enjoyed it. With my new found freelancing freedom I have decided to take my bank-holiday-in-lieu as soon as my lovely boyfriend comes home. He's been away for a month now but is due back in 3 weeks. Looking forward to a mini-break with him. In the meantime I have sent him this along with a pile of sweets and some ice pops, apparently it's 35º today... Bath is a grumpy 16º but, it's not raining which is a surprise for August!
Hello lovely bloggers,
So this is it, the Friday of my first 'official' freelancing week and wow hasn't it been a busy one?! I have had meeting after meeting after meeting. I have emailed a million contacts with the hope of some work. I have even had some time to design and next week is looking even busier....the worry of never having enough work has been eclipsed by the thought that I might not be able to take it all on! You may have spotted that I have been doing a little bit of blogging too? Anyway, I am happy, life is good and if the sun could pop it hat on for a bit today I would have no complaints at all. Hope you all have a lovely weekend, my sister is coming for a visit, I can't wait!
Also, especially for my lovely Fly-boy who is a very long way-away in a very dusty place - Look! I finally finished it :)
Hello lovely bloggers - well, the Olympics finished, but what a brilliant time to be a Brit! National pride is sky high and everyone is smiling through the rainy summer!
Yesterday was my first official day as a full time freelancer and it was brilliant! I worked a whole day sending emails and planning designs and the day flew by, I love my new life choice. Lets hope it stays that way. In the meantime I have started a new pattern range based on the pattern above that I hope to upload onto Spoonflower soon.
I uploaded a few new company designs onto my website over the weekend. They include a brochure and logo design for a local housing development and a company profile leaflet for a Bath based electrical company. You can have a little look here.
In other news I received my first proper piece of freelance work since announcing my new career plan. It looks like things are starting to pay off.
I am a graphic and product designer and have been working commercially for over six years. I am currently working as a full time freelancer in Carterton, Oxfordshire creating print ready designs for a multitude of industries including children's publishing, commercial business premises, social stationery designs and surface pattern design.
Previously I have worked in children's publishing, greetings card design and stationery agencies after getting my BA (Hons) at Bath Spa University and graduating in 2006.
