A few weeks ago the BBC broadcast their Wimbledon trailer coverage and this year they have gone with a typographic style designed by Red Bee.
Speaking in Design Week Joe Lee, creative head at Red Bee, said, ‘We needed a piece that would stand up against all the other sport that’s on at the moment.
‘Everyone’s talking about a “Golden Age of men’s tennis” – so the brief was to look at the proposition that this was probably the most competitive Wimbledon in the last 30 years.’
Fingers crossed that the torrential rain that has hit the UK over the last few weeks clears up before the competition begins.
